Methods to Reset HP 8710 Ink Cartridge

Go through the below methods to reset HP 8710 ink cartridge to resolve the HP Officejet Pro 8710 cartridge problem. Check out the steps:

Method 1: Full Reset on HP 8710 Printer

Usually, the reset of the printer solves most of the problems associated with the printer ink cartridges. In case, your printer keeps showing an error message that replaces the ink cartridge or your printer ink cartridge is empty even it is full then try to perform a full reset of your printer as it may help you to fix the issue. Here are the steps to reset HP 8710 printer ink cartridge:

Step 1: Turn on your printer if it is switched off.

Step 2: After that, uninstall the printer’s ink cartridges.

Step 3: Thereafter, wait for some time until your printer becomes idle and silent. It usually takes 20 to 30 seconds.

Step 4: In the next step, unplug the power cable of your HP 8710 printer from the wall socket when it is on.

Step 5: Now, you have to wait for some time before reinstalling the ink cartridges. 

Step 6: In the next step, replug the power cable of your printer from the wall socket as well as from your HP printer.

Step 7: At last, switch on your printer and wait for some time until it becomes idle and silent. 


Note: Now, check whether your printer is read your ink cartridge or not. If not, then follow the below steps to reset your HP 8710 printer five times:

Step 1: Switch off your HP 8710 printer and uninstall the ink cartridge of your printer again.

Step 2: After that, turn on your printer and wait for some time before switching off again. You have to wait for your printer until it turns off completely.

Step 3: Repeat the above step five times.

Step 4: Thereafter, reinstall the ink cartridge to your HP 8710 printer.

Reset of printer five times will delete the previously installed ink cartridge from the internal memory of your HP 8710 printer.


Method 2: Fooling the HP Printer to Refill Ink Cartridge Work Again 

For refilled the HP ink cartridge, you will require to clear tape for the below steps:

Step 1: Uninstall the ink cartridges from your HP 8710 printer.

Step 2: Now, you need to look for the electrical contacts on the ink cartridge and position it near to you. You will view 6 columns of the metal contacts.

Step 3: Locate the 7th metal contact in the second column from the left side of the ink cartridge. You can count from the bottom which is placed nearer to you.

Step 4: After that, cut a piece of tape from the 7th metal contact.

Step 5: You have to reinstall the ink cartridge from your HP 8710 printer.

Step 6: Now, go ahead with the printhead alignment process. After that, remove the ink cartridge again.

Step 7: Next, retain the tape from the 7th metal contact. Locate the 6th metal contact from below in the 2nd column from the right side of the cartridge. 

Step 8: Place a tape on the 6th metal contact.

Step 9: In the next step, reinstall the ink cartridge and do the printer alignment process.

Step 10: Once you complete the alignment process, uninstall the ink cartridge and peel off the tape reside by the tapes on the metal contacts.

Step 11: Reinstall the ink cartridge into your HP 8710 printer.

Step 12: Follow the same steps for the other ink cartridge.
