Step 1: The first step is to ensure that your HP printer is connected to the power outlet directly. Make sure that there is not any surge protector. 

Step 2: To perform the hard reset on the HP printer, remove the toner from it.

Step 3: Also, remove the ink cartridge from your printer. 

Step 4: After that, turn off your HP printer and disconnect the power cord.

Step 5: Thereafter, unplug the USB cable or any cable if present.

Step 6: Now, you have to wait for some time and after that, press and hold the power button on your HP printer for about 30 seconds. 

Step 7: Next, you can plug back the power cable again to the socket directly without using any extra extensions or protector extension cord. Plug in the power cord again to your HP printer.

Step 3: If your printer is on then you need to click on the Copy and X button (Cancel button located above the copy button). Release the button until you see the permanent storage initialise. In case, it fails then you have to click on the right arrow and cancel button situated at the above copy button. 

Step 4: Make sure to download and install the latest available firmware on your system and apply it. For this, prefer to use the USB cable instead of using it over the network to update the firmware. 

Step 5: In case your home wireless router does not support ipv6 then you need to disable the ipv6 in the HP printer.
